A daylong workshop with Dr. Andrew McGonigle
Wednesday 5th April | 10am - 5pm | YQ East
As a teacher it can often be challenging to know how best to support students who come to class with an injury.
This daylong workshop aims to give you the tools that you need to be able to approach, support and empower all students so that the practice is truly accessible.
The day will include:
Discussing the latest research on yoga-related injuries
Looking at basic guidelines for the most appropriate and effective way to communicate with a student who has an injury
Reviewing the anatomy of the knee, lumbar spine and shoulder
Exploring the most common injuries that students present to class with (related to the knee, lumbar spine and shoulder)
Addressing how specific asanas can be adapted to make them more accessible
Discussing ways in which we can work to improve the health of these three areas of the body
