Ever wondered what the difference is between Yoga and Pilates? Or maybe you think there isn’t
much of a difference?
This workshop will explore the similarities and differences between Yoga and
Pilates through a practice of Yogalates. This will combine the yoga focus on mind and body
awareness – strength, stamina, flexibility and balance – with Pilates techniques to improve posture
and focus on developing a strong core to create a stable foundation for everyday movement.
The workshop will flow through a sequence designed to be challenging but fun. Yoga and Pilates
props will be used to provide support and modifications will be offered, making it suitable for all and
mixed abilities. Come along and learn how you can complement your yoga practice with a fusion of
Pilates for improved strength, core stability and flexibility.
Bio
The practice will be led by Ciara Keenan, who is a Level 3 qualified Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates and
Vinyasa Flow Yoga Instructor. Ciara has been guiding Pilates classes for years over 12 years and has
developed her own Power Pilates class that combines Pilates with functional fitness for a complete
body workout. Ciara has completed training in Strala Yoga with Tara Stiles, Yin Yoga with Josh
Summers and graduated from Flow Academy’s first Vinyasa Flow training in 2016. She most recently
completed training in Reformer Pilates with Ten Education & Fitness in London and Rocket Yoga with
the Rocket Yoga Academy in 2021. Ciara is passionate about promoting a strong and healthy body
and mind and there is a focus on yin and yang in her classes – achieving balance is always the goal!
