VINYASA FLOW

In these classes the teacher assumes that students have a general experience of yoga and the poses.

Classes tend to be faster paced and more dynamic.

Less detailed explanations of the poses will be given, and transitions may be more creative.  Classes will still include the use of props and suggested modifications but  the modifications will more likely be for those who want to take it a little bit easier.

Classes will offer a well-balanced practice and may include some poses that are considered intermediate.  Poses that are maybe more challenging are sometimes called the peak pose and the teacher will have crafted the practice in such a way that your body will be ready for it when it is suggested.  Remember though it is only ever a suggestion and the journey to the pose is the practice.

HATHA

This Hatha based class combines traditional Hatha Yoga postures with functional movement to strengthen and open the body in different ways, targeting common areas of muscle weaknesses and tension.

Ideal for those wishing to build strength and endurance while also working on flexibility and mobility.

This is a slower moving class featuring longer stamina-testing, isometric hold times which will help to improve flexibility while still working on your strength endurance, body control and cardiovascular function.

Prepare to be challenged while focusing on the breath. Modifications offered for less intense and more advanced pose options.

SLOW FLOW

Typically, these are slower paced classes.  There is an emphasis on taking your time and slowing the breath with the movement.

Props and modifications are offered for ease in the postures, making them more accessible.

Although not specifically tailored for beginners, these classes are often an appropriate progression.

Classes may include a modified sun salutation, a well-balanced practice of back bends, forward bends, twists, standing and seated postures with the possibility of standing or arm balance.

Options will also be given that may be considered more challenging for students who so desire.
