Yoga : A Radical Practice

Join us for this weekend course where we will explore the connections between yoga, trauma, and social justice.

What does social justice look and feel like? How do we address trauma created by systems, prejudice, and discrimination — not only in individuals but in our community as a whole? How do we move beyond our understanding of self-care to include care for the collective as well?

Over the weekend, we will explore these questions and more. Topics will include:

  • Foundations of social justice, including an exploration of power, privilege, and systems of oppression

  • The relationship between personal and collective wellbeing

  • How we might use our yoga practice to create embodied social change

  • An introduction to trauma informed yoga

This course is open to yoga teachers and/or yoga practitioners who are interested in social change.

This course will be facilitated by Ally Armstrong, Susan McEwen, and Maggie McKeever.
